The Prairie County Superintendent of School’s office is consolidated with the Prairie County Treasurer located in the Prairie County Courthouse.

Prairie County consists of 1 county-wide school district, with K-12 schools located in Terry, MT, the county seat. Grades K-3 are located in the Bolin School, grades 4-8 are in the Grandey School and grades 9-12 are in the Terry High School. Students in the lower classes are sometimes required to attend various classes in the high school building.
