The Montana State University Extension Service is an educational resource dedicated to improving the quality of people's lives by providing research-based knowledge to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of families, communities and agriculture enterprises. The Extension program in Prairie County fulfills Montana State University’s land grant mission, ensuring that all Montanans benefit from the University. The people of Prairie County are connected to research based information from the University by Extension agents and campus specialists. Practical knowledge is extended to Prairie County residents related to agriculture, 4-H and youth development, community development, and family and consumer sciences.
